Take care of your jewelry
All jewelry is handmade in high-quality 950 silver, but one thing that can happen is that, over time or with use, the silver may darken or oxidize. This is completely normal and reversible by following a few simple tips.
- Don't leave your jewelry exposed. Always keep it in its box, bag, or jewelry case.
- Make sure your jewelry box is not made of wood, as it can stain the metal.
- Do not apply perfume or cream directly to your jewelry.
- Avoid exercising or sunbathing while wearing your jewelry, as sweat can tarnish the metal.
- Don't go into the ocean or pool with your jewelry. The ocean has compounds, and pool water contains chlorine, both of which can turn silver black.
- Never go into hot spring waters with jewelry! The high sulfur content in the water will turn silver black.
Some people have skin with a very high pH that turns silver black upon contact. If this is your case, it's recommended to clean your jewelry every time you take it off.
If you're one of those people who never takes off your jewelry, it's unlikely to get dirty. Constant rubbing helps keep your jewelry polished, and if you shower with it daily, it'll also stay clean.
Finally, to keep your jewelry looking and feeling as shiny as it deserves, follow these tips:
- A cleaning cloth comes with your purchase. If you don't already have one, you can purchase it in the store, under Accessories.
- Clean your jewelry with a mixture of warm water and soap, gently scrubbing with a brush. I have a kit ready for you to use.
- Buy a cleaning liquid . I have a miracle-working one at the store that I use to clean the jewelry I store.
